A Time to Dance

A little more than a year and a half ago I started a prayer group for moms, like me, who are either empty-nesters or quickly moving in that direction, or have at least one child post high school. Our fledgeling group of 8 moms has now evolved into a monthly book club. Our most recent selection was Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust by Immaculée Ilibagiza, a survivor of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. In many ways the book was indeed an inspiring story of great faith amidst sheer horror, but reading it also left me feeling cynical and depressed. Aware of the atrocities still taking place throughout the world today, I felt my faith in humanity slipping away.

But then I read this article containing the video below.

I love, love, LOVE this video. I don't know if I'm overly sentimental, but it made me smile and cry at the same time and dance! And it made me think about how all these people from all across the globe are God's children. And how He loves ALL of them.

I think this guy, Matt Harding, may be doing more for world peace than any world diplomat or UN official ever has. He is a missionary of joy!

Just take a look. If this doesn't lift you up, I don't know what will:

And take a peek at the outtake video, too:

  1. This was great...even I wanted to dance at 88 years old. Unbelievable how many countries he visited and they are all God's children.
